Hollywood Squares. This is per the guide on Comcast DVR. No clue yet as to whether it's going to be Marshall or Bergeron or a mix. Enjoy!

It'll be the 2001-02 season of Bergeron most likely. The rights lapsed for the Marshall HS shows more than a year ago. The 2001-02 season is all GSN has leased on the Bergeron run.

Damn shame they can't secure the rights to H2 (either or both seasons)

There are three things I've learned never to discuss with people: Religion, politics, and the proper wrapping of microphone cables.

I'd thought the contract was not renewed for this show as it wasn't as popular as GSN would have liked it to be, like was the case with WLOD. I suspect it will be five of the same episodes seen in 2002 and 2003.

And the alternative - five of the same episodes from the 2001 Bergeron Season that have been seen several times over already since 2003 - would be better HOW? (Well, except maybe the 02 College Week...eh, really, who'd wanna see THOSE again :p)

I don't think the 2001-02 Bergeron HS shows are any better than Marshall's were(our fellow Invisioner in the College Tourney notwithstanding). I'm just surprised they still have the rights to air the Marshall HS, as I'd thought the contract to air the Marshall shows lapsed a year or more ago. I'd thought WLOD and LMAD also stopped airing on GSN because the contractual rights lapsed, and they were not renewed.

I just saw the promo...this is awesome!  I was without cable when GSN ran these for the first time, so I don't really care if these were run over and over again the first go-round.

We really need to hand it to GSN...they've thrown a lot of bones to their core audience lately.  Bravo!

Why? Because GSN stopped airing them after a schedule change?   HS is obvious: It's been commented on ad nauseum that the ratings have never been there for the show, and the ratings in the then-key demo of 18-49 (Prior to GSN's target shift in daytime to 25-54 specifically, with renewed focus on Overall viewers), were absolutely horrible.

As for LMAD: Nothing more than a casualty of GSN trying to salvage airplayson a bad investment in Star Search - GSN wanted to milk as many airplays as possible out of a show they paid for that fit in with their programming directive at the time, but wanted it out of the way, so they put it in the most remote slot possible outside of B&WO territory - 9 AM.  LMAD just happened to be there at the time.   Besides, the 70s episodes had been run through several times by then, and a lot of the '84 shows had seen 2 airings, with most of the 1985s getting at least 1.

And I'd imagine that, after two years in the same hour period (7-8), airing the same 150  episodes, that WLOD's ratings were starting to get a bit dry - not to mention that putting a traditional game in that timeframe would go COMPLETELY against GSN's programming drive at the time.  As for a morning slot: It just didn't happen.

Sometimes shows just leave the schedule.  No contract expiry involed - they just disappear.

I do remember reading on that "other" board that the contract for LMAD is due to expire sometime this summer, and that GSN did indeed lose its contract for WLOD last March.  But of course, I do know to take everything I read there with a grain of salt.

As for Squares, it's possible that GSN still has the tapes and simply decided to lease 5 episodes for this marathon.  If GSN does indeed still have the rights to the full batch of episodes, I don't see why GSN wouldn't still at least be giving the show a weekend morning airing, especially considering the renewed focus on classics.  I think the main reason why GSN was disappointed with the ratings was because they ran it in prime time and were expecting Match Game numbers.

This is getting sureal now. GSN entire change of heart gives meaning to the phrase 'stranger
things have happened.'

Meeting Peter Marshall at a book signing in 09/02 is a great memory.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the promo just before 10pm eastern was for Bergeron and Whoopi.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

Either they're going to mix and match the eps, or someone realized they were doing promos for the wrong version, I'm guessing..

I'd piss in my pants right now if it was Davidson's run :)

Guess what? It'll never happen so I don't have to worry.
